Tracemark, jewellery with guarantees

The gold and diamond market has always been under suspicion for mining operations that violate the human rights of workers and the environment. In order to combat these practices and improve the reputation of the sector, the company Tracemark has launched an innovative technology that uses a traceability system to ensure that the jewellery complies with ethical and sustainable criteria from its extraction to its final sale. Consumers can check this by means of a QR code that displays a document showing all the stages of the jewellery’s production, audited by a professional in the sector.

The business idea comes from the Serret family, owners of the Barcelona-based company Facet, which has specialised in the manufacture and sale of high-end jewellery since 2005. The family set up Tracemark last year with a share capital of 600,000 euros. The majority was contributed by the Serret family and another part by the French jeweller André Messika.
