FACET launches first jewellery collection with Greenland Ruby and Tracemark – GOLD&TIME

Gold&Time

The rubies come from a mine near the town of Aappaluttoq, about 150 kilometres from Nuuk, the capital of the country.

These rubies are mined responsibly, complying with the strictest environmental, mining, human rights, labour and education practices. This is why this mine has been labelled as the world’s most sustainable new source of rubies.

The Spanish company FACET achieved full traceability of precious stones and metals years ago, thanks to the collaboration with the Spanish company Tracemark.

Now, FACET is partnering with Tracemark and Greenland Ruby to launch the world’s most sustainable classic jewellery collection, featuring the oldest and most sustainable rubies on the planet to date.

In this way, traceability is incorporated for the first time in coloured gemstones, demonstrable at source and along the entire value chain.

The collection consists of 27 pieces of rings, pendants and earrings with diamonds and rubies from Greenland as the centre stones of the pieces, fully traceable and with a certificate of provenance, and is produced with traceable recycled gold with CoC certificate.

Thanks to the technology offered by Tracemark, the end consumer will be able to scan a QR code that will provide complete and real information on each of the steps that the jewellery and its components have undergone.

“Once again, FACET takes a step forward towards a sustainable and responsible industry with a new alliance with Tracemark and Greenland Ruby. This collaboration symbolises our commitment to changing the industry towards one that is more transparent, responsible and innovative.” José Miguel Serret, CEO FACET.
