Rubies from Greenland? That’s right, rubies from a mine near the town of Aappaluttoq (‘red stone’ in the local language), about 150 km from Nuuk, the capital of the country. These rubies are mined responsibly, complying with the strictest environmental, mining, human rights, labor and education practices at every step of the value chain. For this reason, the mine has been named the world’s most sustainable new source of rubies.
